Sattal is an interconnected group of seven freshwater lakes situated in the lower Himalayan range near Nainital, in Uttarakhand, India. The lakes sit at an altitude of 1370 metres and set amongst dense forests of oak and pine forest. It is heaven for birders due its rich avifaunal diversity. It has 500 species of resident and migratory birds. Main birding spots in and around Sattal includes Sattal studio, Christian Ashram Road, Chanfi etc. 


Target Birds in Sattal: Blue-winged Siva, Mountain Bulbul, Scaly-breasted Wren Babbler, Mountain Scops Owl, Rufous-chinned Laughingthrush, Fire-breasted Flowerpecker, Great Barbet, White-browed Scimitar Babbler, Scarlet Finch, Golden Bush Robin, White-tailed Rubythroat, Siberian Rubythroat, Grey-crowned Prinia, Red-billed Leiothrix, Orange bellied Leafbird  etc.

Target Birds in Chanfi: Kalij Pheasant, Chestnut-headed Tesia, Crested Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Spotted and Slaty-backed Forktail, Common and Pink-browed Rosefinch, Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler, Chestnut Thrush, Dark-sided Thrush, Small Niltava etc.

Pangot  is a popular hill station and birding paradise located about 13 Kms from Nainital. Around 580 bird species have been recorded in this area.

Common Rosefinch, Pink-browedRosefinch, Dark-breasted Rosefinch, Rufous-breasted Accentor,Slaty-headed Parakeet, Striated Laughingthrush,Streaked Laughingthrush,White-throated Laughingthrush,Chestnut-crowned Laughing thrush. Cheer Pheasant, Koklass Pheasant, Hill Partridge, Collared Owlet, White-browed Shrike-babbler, Mistle Thrush, Stripe-throated Yuhina, Mrs Goulds Sunbird, Nepal Fulvetta, Collared Owlet, Bearded Vulture,Himalayan Buzzard,Eurasian Hobby, Common Kestrel,Lesser Kestrel, Himalayan Vulture, Altai Accentor etc.Long-billed Thrush, Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, Brown Wood Owl, Spotted Forktail, Striated Laughingthrush, Black Eagle, Black-faced Warbler,Maroon Oriole etc.

Tour Itinerery: ( 3 Nt & 4 Days)


Day- 1: Pick up from Kathgodam Railway Station @ 05:05 hrs  and transfer to hotel at Pangot by Innova/ Tavera/ Sumo. Morning session near hotel campus area. After lunch birding at woodpecker point, Ghuggukhan and Timlipani. Night stay at Pangot.

Day- 2: Morning birding at Kunjkharak road and Vinayak.  After lunch birding at Kilburry road. Night stay at Pangot.

Day-3:  5:30 a.m. proceed to Sattal with packed breakfast. Morning birding at  Sattal studio, Christian Ashram road and after lunch birding at Chanfi. Night stay at Sattal.

Day-4: Morning birding at Sattal Studio. After lunch birding at Nalni near Ghatghar. Visit Jim Corbett museum at Kaladhungi and then reach Kathgodam railway station at 19:00 Hrs. 
 

Tour cost includes: Pick up and drop from kathgodam railway station by Non AC car (Innova/ Tavera/ Sumo). Accomodation on triple sharing basis in tents or rooms(Non A.C). Veg Food- Lunch, Dinner, breakfast, Tea and coffee during stay (till lunch on Day-4) , Guide charges. 
 
Tour cost excludes: Airfare, Railway far, Mineral water, Medicine, Camera charges if any , laundry, anything not listed in' tour cost includes'.
